BLESSING OF THE GRAVES

Many thanks to those who turned out in horrible weather last Saturday. Offerings given have provided for 18 Masses for the Holy Souls.

THE POSADA

It will not be possible to pass the statue of the Holy Family from house to house this year but you can still sign up for a day in Advent when you may welcome Mary and Joseph and their unborn child into your home. It will be possible to download a picture of the statue and the prayers from our parish website or you can ask for a hard copy to be sent to you in the post.

If we are permitted to gather for Christmas Mass we propose to have Masses as follows:

24th December

12.00 noon Holy Family Church

4.00pm Holy Family Church

7.00pm Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation

 

25th December

8.00am Church of Our Lay of the Annunciation

9.30am Holy Family Church

11.00am Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation

All Masses will be ticket only which must be pre-booked so that we can comply with Covid-safe procedures.

WEDDINGS IN 2021

A reminder that 6 months notice must be given for Weddings so that the necessary paperwork and instruction may be completed.

SOLEMN EXPOSITION

As is our custom, there will be Solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the feast of Christ the King. This will be in Our Lady’s Church from 1.00pm – 4.00pm this Sunday when the church will be open for private prayer.

SISTER BERNARDINE

Fr Peter has recently been in contact with the Daughters of Jesus, Mary and Joseph (Sister’s Congregation). Sister Bernardine is being cared for in their care home for retired sisters. Although she has advanced dementia, she is otherwise well and up and about. Please keep her in your prayers.

AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED

Wednesday 25th is #RedWednesday.  Wear something red in support of persecuted Christians. Our Lady’s will be lit red again and there will be an opportunity for private prayer between 7.00pm – 8.00pm with exposition of the blessed sacrament.  Keep a eye out for Aid to the Church in Need’s launch of their parliamentary report ‘Set Your Captives Free’.

Both our churches are Covid-safe and the usual precautions of Hand-Face-Space are being followed

PLEASE OBSERVE THE RULES ON SOCIAL DISTANCING IN CHURCH AND ESPECIALLY AVOID MINGLING IN GROUPS OUTSIDE THE CHURCH. THIS COULD LEAD TO US BEING FORCED TO CLOSE THE CHURCH.
