AD MULTOS ANNOS!

Congratulations and prayers for

Reverend Jacob Cheriyan and Reverend Prameel Joseph

who were both ordained as Permanent Deacons last week.

They will be serving as prison chaplains in our diocese.

---------------------------------------------------------------

QUEEN ELIZABETH II HOSPITAL - 40th ANNIVERSARY

There will be a Mass of Thanksgiving for Patients and Staff in the hospital chapel at 4.30pm on Tuesday 11th August.

Former members of staff who would like to attend are asked to contact Fr. Gordon.

---------------------------------------------------------------

RED MOUNT PROCESSION - 16th AUGUST

Obviously things will have to be different this year so it is proposed to have Vespers in church at 3pm followed by an informal socially-distanced amble to the Red Mount Chapel for some devotions outdoors and then back to church for Benediction.

---------------------------------------------------------------

ROSARY

The weekly recitation of the Rosary has resumed: Friday 11.30am in Our Lady’s Church and after Saturday Mass at Holy Family.

---------------------------------------------------------------

LIVESTREAMING

Hopefully the new line will be installed on Thursday this week.

---------------------------------------------------------------

ST. JOSEPH’S HOUSE

The scaffolding for the roof is due to go up in the week beginning 16th August. Walsingham House will also be scaffolded at the same time so that the front can be painted. This is being funded through the Restoration Appeal Fund.

---------------------------------------------------------------

COLLECTION

£635.85

(£314.55 + £339.30 Standing Orders)

Thank you.

---------------------------------------------------------------

ROSARY IN THE HOLY HOUSE

The Rosary is being said  each week on a Friday at 11.30am in the Holy House before the Mass on this day.

---------------------------------------------------------------

NEW NUNCIO

The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti as his new Nuncio for Great Britain. (The Nuncio is the Pope’s Ambassador to the Court of St. James – his representative in this country) This is especially good news for our diocese as it means the process for choosing a new Bishop of East Anglia can begin soon. Bishop Alan has submitted his resignation on reaching the retirement age of 75. He has been our bishop since July 16th 2013. The Chapter of Canons will be considering the profile of the diocese and eventually submitting three names (a “terna”) to the Nuncio who will also consult the other bishops of England and Wales.

CAFOD AND CORONAVIRUS

CAFOD has joined with the UK Disasters Emergencies Committee to help millions of people whose lives are at risk, as coronavirus spreads across refugee camps and countries suffering conflict.

You can donate at https://cafod.org.uk/coronavirus to help CAFOD scale up its coronavirus response through our global Church family.

Or use CAFOD's Summer of Hope fundraising ideas with your family and friends to transform lockdown and raise money for the appeal at https://cafod.org.uk/content/download/52275/733152/version/2/file/How%20to...summer%20fair.pdf
